Jerry Bangerter has had a dynamic and exciting professional and personal life that fully prepared him to head up the management and business activities of RE/MAX Kai Lani. A colleague recently said of Jerry, “He is one of those guys who walks in and sucks all the oxygen out of the room.” Said another, “The world doesn't move fast enough for Jerry.”

He started his professional life, fresh out of College and ROTC as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He made this observation, “We had a draft in those days, and if I was going to be in the Army, I might as well do it as an Officer.” It ended up being a very exciting and rewarding career.

From his military life, it was predictable that Jerry would move seamlessly into international Sales and Marketing with AM General Corporation, a Defense Contractor and manufacturer of the US Army's HMMWV, or Hummer. He spent the next six years demonstrating and selling the HMMWV to the Armed Forces of Allied Nations throughout the World. From a border patrol at the edge of Chad with the Sudanese Army to the Taklimakan desert in Western China, Jerry put the HMMWV through its paces to the delight of all. After all this, Jerry found himself in Saudi Arabia during the First Iraq war where he was representing and selling Cummins Diesel Engine powered Military Vehicles to the Saudi Arabian Army.

He did this as a sales executive with Cummins Military Systems Company from which he was soon reassigned to Cummins Engine Company's head offices in Columbus Indiana to head their Government Sales Department. Jerry, his wife Sam and daughter Cori Hamilton decided to continue life's adventure by going into business themselves. RE/MAX Kai Lani was born as a full service Real Estate and Property Management Company in June 2005. Jerry got into the Real Estate Business at the request of his wife Sam, in April 2000 by kick starting a property management department at RE/MAX Honolulu.
